One of the top issues adopters reach out for help with, is their Romanian or overseas rescue dogs barking, lunging & generally having big feelings towards dogs, people, joggers, cyclists and a myriad of other things on walks. It's a big and stressful problem when you're faced with it every day, every time you step outside the door to walk your dogs.
I know first hand what that feels like! I've had several 'reactive' German Shepherds over the years, and my own Romanian boy, Tramp, was triggered by pretty much everything as a teenager.
This recording of my Mini Workshop for dogs that over react on walks aims to provide you with a better understanding of how to help set your Romanian Rescue dogs up better to handle situations out and about in the big wide world. It explains the advantages of following a structured process and taking a holistic approach.
Simply attempting to 'train away' the behaviour, is rarely successful long term because it doesn't take into consideration all the potential physiological & emotional factors that could be influencing your dog's behaviour.
Your workshop includes a 30 page PDF workbook you can download, to help you formulate a progress plan for your dog, as well as a section of additional resources for you inside, these include teaching guides, video demonstrations and other recommendations that are likely to be helpful to anyone with a dog that struggles with big feelings out in the world.
Why Would this Workshop be Perfect for You?
Although you may have read lots of training advice around reactivity on walks, and possibly even worked with other trainers, not all trainers understand Romanian dogs and their sometimes quirky natures. Many Romanian dogs can benefit from a slightly different approach when working on their 'over the top' reactions on walks. There can be little tweaks, that if done slightly differently can set our foreign rescue dogs up better when it comes to how they feel about the things they are triggered by.
In addition, many Romanian and foreign rescue dogs aren't comfortable around strangers, so working via an online program can be a good option for these dogs. There is no travel involved for you or your dog and you're not tied to classes or appointments.
You get to work in the comfort of your own home and familiar environment, you can watch the workshop & supporting resources as many times as you need and share it with everyone who walks your dog, because consistency plays a big part in seeing progress.
