Reactivity on Walks Workshop

RECORDING + RESOURCES: Helping you understand, support, and work with a dog who overreacts on walks. Includes Workbook + Teaching guides

Workshop Summary

One of the top issues adopters reach out to me for help with, is their Romanian or overseas rescue dogs barking, lunging & generally having big feelings towards dogs, people, joggers, cyclists and a myriad of other things on walks.

It's a big and stressful problem when you're faced with it every day, every time you step outside the door to walk your dogs.

I know first hand what that feels like!  I've had several 'reactive' German Shepherds over the years, and my own Romanian boy, Tramp, was triggered by pretty much everything as an adolescent.

This workshop - created specifically for Romanian & Overseas dogs that react to things on walks- aims to provide you with a better understanding of how to help set your dogs up better to handle situations out and about in the big wide world.

It explains the advantages of following a structured process and taking a holistic approach.

Simply attempting to 'train away' the behaviour, is rarely successful long term because it doesn't take into consideration all the potential physiological & emotional factors that could be influencing your dog's behaviour.

Why Would this Workshop be Perfect for You?

Although you may have read lots of training advice around reactivity on walks, and possibly even worked with other trainers - not all trainers understand Romanian dogs and their sometimes quirky natures.

Many Romanian dogs can benefit from a slightly different approach - working with their naturally evolved nature rather than against it.

Benefits for your dog: Many foreign rescue dogs can be uncomfortable travelling in cars, being in large groups of unknown dogs and around people they don't know - so learning via an online resource can be a great option for these dogs.

Benefits for you: There is no travel involved for you or your dog and you're not tied to classes or appointments.

You get to work in the comfort of your own home and familiar environment, you can watch the workshop & supporting resources as many times as you need and share it with everyone who walks your dog, because consistency plays a big part in seeing progress.

Your Reactivity on Walks workshop recording includes a 30 page PDF workbook you can download, to help you formulate a progress plan for your dog.  There is also a selection of additional resources for you inside that compliment the information shared in the workshop.

Whilst it's not possible to provide an entire step by step process for resolving reactivity on walks during one workshop - because every dog is different - the information shared can absolutely help you get started moving things in a positive direction

Hugely helpful to get people on the right track!

Thanks Meesh, for this very informative and helpful material! As a dog trainer, it's great to be able to draw upon this information when talking to clients who think fixing reactivity is, or should be, a quick fix, and who are not aware of the impact their expectations, handling and emotions have on their dogs. I really appreciate your work with these dogs!

Best ever

This is the best lesson from someone who intimately understands the behaviour of Romanian dogs and it is so helpful and good to know that the behaviour and reactions of mine is typical. I recommend it highly

Meesh Masters

Hello! My name is Meesh Masters, founder and business owner of The Dog’s Point of View. I've been working with dogs in a professional capacity for over 20 years, with over 10 years working exclusively with Romanian and overseas rescue dogs and their families. My mission is to help adopters and canine professionals truly understand and support these more naturally evolved dogs through one-to-one consultations, home study courses, webinars, workshops, and my Adopters Coaching Group - the leading online resource for Romanian and overseas rescue dog support.

My journey with natural world dogs began in 2015 when I started fostering and supporting new adopters. It quickly became clear that Romanian dogs were different from UK-born dogs. Their lineage - shaped by street life and natural selection - means they rely heavily on instinct and don’t always respond to conventional training methods.

Learning to work with them in a way that respected their nature changed everything for me, and I’ve been sharing that knowledge ever since.

Today, I’m proud to be Patron of Cloud K9 Rescue and Annie’s Trust and provide advice to several other rescue organisations. I also run the Romanian Rescue Pro Trainers Program for qualified trainers to learn more about working with overseas rescues.

Everything I do is focused on working holistically to support both the human and canine ends of the lead. I use only fear free, force free, and positive reinforcement approaches and my goal is always to help adopters and professionals both understand, and work with the true nature of these amazing dogs - in a way that aligns with who and how they are as individuals, rather than ignoring or trying to suppress what makes them who they are.
